Anyone interested in participating in a jazz band will meet in the band room at 12:30 the first day of class each semester. In this meeting you will pick up your audition music, sign-up for an audition time, and be able to ask any questions you may have. The auditions are then held on Wednesday and Thursday during the first week of class. The wind instrument auditions consist of an etude or musical excerpt followed by an optional improvisation demonstration. For guitar, bass guitar, and piano, the auditionee is asked to read and follow a chord progression of a standard tune followed by an optional improvisation demonstration.
Band audition provides amazing opportunities for aspiring or professional singers, dancers and those who love playing the guitar and some other instruments. Band audition events are unsurpassed for competitions, industry seminars, they don't forget the vacation value (at VIP hotels) which makes the audition for talent of all types, ages and levels of experience.
Every instrument with the exception of drum set is then posted by Thursday evening. Those wishing to audition for drum set will do so at 12:30 on the first Friday of class. Drum set auditionees will be asked to demonstrate their reading and time-keeping skills. The results are then posted later that day.
